3rd Day Added to Music Video

Here is the added footage to my music video from the third day of me filming. As you can see from my music video I have finished the majority of my video except I still need to plan another day of filming to fit the beginning section of my music video. Looking at my music video I think that the new footage fits well with the music and the narrative structure flows to make sense. At first when I was developing my ideas for my music video structure and story board, I thought to display what I had in my head would be difficult, however I think that by visually seeing my ideas, it has worked well. From taking on board my feedback and my own criticism  I have changed sections of the music video of my second day of footage, and made the video flow better and more easier. I think that the editing and narrative structure fits better with the song more now than how it did in the second draft.

Producing My Music Video Draft

Above are screen shots of me inserting the footage that I wanted to use in my music video. At this point I was cutting the clips so that the footage would fit in time with my chosen song. With some of my clips due to the lighting, the footage appeared slightly orange tinged. So I decided to change the exposure of the clip and adjust the colour so that it didn't appear as harsh. To do this I added a colour tinge of blue which made the clip look less orange.

As I was having issues with this section of the clip as I wasn't happy with the speed, I decided to cut a chunk of this section shown above so that it only had the friends buying the donut. I thought to do this because this would give me space to speed my clips up and also from my feedback, it made sense to only show this narrative section and not the part where they walk away. Looking back at the video, this was a good idea as it still narratively makes sense however it has given me room to make my previous clips normal speed and make the editing less abrupt.

Here is the process of me putting my clips back to normal speed at the section that I and my teacher thought where too fast. By deleting the clip like said above, it gave me more space to play around with the speed and also add more footage that I haven't used from my second day of filming. Therefore allowing me to have the room to add to my more footage to my video. I then played around with trimming the footage to fit and have the appropriate sections of the footage in my music video. Looking at my product so far this has made this section look more smoother and not as fast as the previous draft.
